SLAS provides a Nursery through Grade 12 program using Common Core and California Learning curriculum. The school has an enrollment of more than 800 students. As a mission driven, not-for-profit school located in a suburban neighborhood in the Puxi area of Shanghai, SLAS is regularly acknowledged for its sense of close knit community and the school’s CORE values.

Classes are instructed in an intimate setting with less than 25 students per classroom. The academic calendar closely tracks that of the U.S. system. In the secondary program, there are two semesters per year. In our Early Years and Primary Years Program, there are three trimesters.

    Job Requirements

    • Qualifications:
      Bachelor’s Degree plus
      2 years teaching experience necessary, prior to application
      Teaching certificate or license
      Collaborative and positive mindset
      Strong interest in building our school culture, supporting the school mission and vision
      Support SLAS’s mission and vision
      Have passion in teaching students
      Are sensitive and responsive to the needs of students
      Demonstrate commitment in teamwork
      Are good role models to students and conduct themselves professional
      Native English Speaker from US, Canada, Ireland, UK, New Zealand, Australia (Requirement of Chinese Government)

      Preferred SLAS applicants will be in possession of either a current teaching certificate, a BA or higher degree, plus a minimum of two years recent and full-time teaching experience in a North American curriculum K-12 school. Strong candidates with other teaching certifications will also be considered. Applicants should be certified to teach for the position/s in which they are applying and be technology literate. Leading after school co-curricular activities is required of all SLAS teachers.
