Woodland Public Schools - Recess Aide

Benefits:  Approximately $600 per month from district to cover medical, dental and vision premiums.  Position is WA State Department of Retirement Systems eligible.

Job Summary: Provides supervision to students at recess. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience or training working with K-1 students. 
  • Ability to work and communicate well with staff members.
  • Ability to follow a variety of prescribed education strategies.
  • Ability to independently complete assigned tasks. 
  • Strong self-management skills, self-initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong regard for relationships with peers and children.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Previous work in child care.  
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board policies.
  • Comfortable and capable of supervising students in an outdoor setting.
  • Punctual, flexible with good sense of humor.
  • Bilingual preferred.

  • Monitor student behaviors on all parts of the campus and make appropriate supervisory decisions.
  • Responsible to communicate effectively, be a team player and to treat all students with dignity.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
  • Work in a flexible and cooperative manner
  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
