Job Description

Library Technology Assistant
8:00am-3:30pm
7 Hours/Day
$14.54-$18.96/Hour
Lake Grove Elementary School



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Research, purchase with district library technology specialist’s approval and receive and process new materials.
  2. Responsible for the circulation of materials using the district’s library automation system.
  3. Type correspondence, memos, purchase orders, etc. for the library.
  4. Maintain materials inventory.
  5. Assist teachers in maintaining appropriate student behaviors in the library.
  6. Assist students and staff by providing instructional support to supplement students’ basic instruction of library skills curriculum.
  7. Operate audio-visual, computer, and other equipment including the Destiny circulation system.
  8. Trouble-shoot technology problems according to CNS guidelines.
  9. Responsible for service requests for the library and the library lab(s).

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Trouble-shoot problems with AV equipment.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.
 

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATES/LICENSES

  1. Valid First Aid Card preferred.

EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL PREPARATION

  1. Associate’s Degree or two years college/university preferred.
  2. Familiarity with or experience in library systems including computer systems preferred.
  3. Bloodborne Pathogens training required.

Training and Experience Required:
Familiarity with or experience in library systems including computer systems preferred.  Minimum of an Associates Degree or two years of college/university preferred.  First Aid Certification preferred and Bloodborne Pathogens Training required (can be accomplished after selection).
