Position:
Technology Assistant
 
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Media and Digital Learning, the Technology Assistant will perform technical and clerical responsibilities to support the media and technology department.
 
Position Responsibilities:
The Technology Assistant works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Media and Digital Learning. He/she collaborates closely with the Technology Integration Specialists, who provide guidance and prioritization of tasks and general oversight of work on a day-to-day basis. He/she supports the use of desktops, Interactive Whiteboards, audio-visual equipment, Chromebooks, laptops, iPads, and other mobile devices. He/she supports teachers and students with their AV and technology needs. The Technology Assistant is responsible to troubleshoot equipment, set up AV technology, and address tickets in the technology ticket system. This position also includes maintenance, record-keeping, documentation, and inventory responsibilities. He/she supports student tech leaders in providing customer services.

  • Assists teachers and students with daily technology requests and support
  • Assists and provides training for student tech leaders
  • Supports AV equipment set-ups throughout the school
  • Sets up AV
  • Provides assistance with maintenance, inventory, record-keeping, and documentation
  • Maintains organization of equipment in the tech office and assists with the scheduling and checking in and out of equipment
  • Performs related duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of audio and multimedia event set-ups
  • Uses and understands Macintosh computers and has familiarity with Chromebooks, productivity and multimedia tools
  • Has experience working with young adults in a structured environment
  • Experience in a high school preferred
  • Experience with Google Apps (G Suite) is a plus
  • Has experience tutoring or providing support to users in technology applications
  • Possesses good communications skills, both speaking and writing
  • Has the ability to track many projects simultaneously and be very organized
  • Can work successfully on a team
  • Has aptitude to learn new technologies
Education and Experience:
Requires High School Diploma or GED and two years experience. Some college preferred.
 
Working Conditions:
School environment.   
The position is 10 months, 1.0 FTE, under the Unit C contract, and in the contract is in the category Program Specialist - Media Technician.
The Technology Assistant position is very active and mobile and the office is busy and quick-paced. The High School is a large building and the successful candidate must be comfortable walking and being on the move for large portions of the work day. The Technology Assistant must be able to lift 30-40 lbs and be able to move carts of equipment throughout the campus.
 
Salary Range:
$24.14 to $32.23 / hour. It is anticipated that the position will be filled at a rate no higher than mid-range.
