Job Description

Cathedral 7-12 High School seeks a student-centered, high school Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate for the position has experience with social studies instruction, the student-centered learning model, personalized learning, urban education, is collaborative, and speaks a second language.

JOB GOALS:


To effectively provide student-centered social studies instruction.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


Teach social studies courses for all grades, 7 through 12
Attend department and curriculum meetings to support student outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS:


Required:
Certification in Middle or Secondary social studies/history

Preferred:
Experienced classroom teacher
Experience working with urban youth
Speaks another language

REPORTS TO: Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year (225 days)

START DATE: August 21, 2017

SALARY: Negotiated based upon experience
