Job Description

Cathedral 7-12 High School seeks a student-centered Coding Teacher. The ideal candidate for the position has experience with instruction in STEM disciplines, especially multiple coding languages, the student-centered learning model, personalized learning, urban education, is collaborative, and speaks a second language.


?To effectively provide student-centered coding instruction.


  • Serving as the full time Coding Teacher and primary instructional person in teaching coding
  • Work with the Director of STEM Studies to create aligned expectations, products, assessments and performance tasks for coding and programing classes
  • Work with math and science teachers to assist with content, pedagogy, curricula alignment, assessments and other instructional practices for math and science to support coding and programing
  • Any other reasonable duties associated with the role that are assigned by the Head of School


  • Experience in or teaching coding languages
  • Teaching certification
  • Experienced classroom teacher
  • Experience working with urban youth
  • Speaks another language
REPORTS TO: Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year (225 days)
START DATE: August 1, 2017
SALARY: Negotiated based upon experience
