Job Description

The Driver is responsible for safely operating the vehicle on a regular daily schedule.


1. Picks up and drops off students per the schedule

2. Ensures students are aware of rules and responsibilities as passengers

3. Maintains order and security of the vehicle

4. Obeys all laws, regulations and rules of conduct

5. Operates vehicle in safe manner

6. Ensures safety of passengers

7. Ensures vehicle is in good operating condition at all times

8. Transports students and faculty to special events (i.e., field trips or sporting events)

9. Makes notes of any complaint from residents and reports it to the Business Manager

10. Makes notes of any behavioral or disciplinary problems and reports it to the Business Manager

11. Cleans vehicle as scheduled and/or required

12. Ensures vehicle is safely and securely stored

13. Performs daily safety and maintenance checks

14. Brings vehicle to appropriate location for repairs and inspections

15. Advises Business Manager of any requirements for maintenance or repairs

16. Keeps track of amount of fuel used, number of students transported, and miles driven and reports this information weekly to the Business Manager

17. Maintains proper licensure for operation of the vehicle

18. Attends safety meetings as required

19. Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Manager

    Job Requirements

    • CDL, School Bus, and Passenger Endorsements


      1. Specific license for vehicle obtained through MA Department of Transportation

      2. High School Diploma or GED
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • High School/Trade School degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
