Teacher Assistant, Preschool Program

The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teachers in creating and executing learning experiences that advance the spiritual, linguistic, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of children within a safe, nurturing, and healthy classroom environment. The Assistant encourages the involvement of families in the program and supports the school's mission.

    Job Requirements

    • 45 DCF Hours (Part I and Part II completed)
    • 5 Hour Early Literacy
    • One (1) or more years experience working in early childhood
    • Ability to attain Level 2 Fingerprinting clearance
    • CPR/First Aid Certified
    • Excellent communication skills; oral and written.
    • Ability to follow lesson plans with objectives tied to Florida Early Learning Standards
    • Ability to assist in writing weekly newsletters to communicate effectively the class' weekly activities/studies with parents
    • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality relating to children, families, staff, and school issues while performing duties, as well as outside of the school.
    • Experience using or knowledge of HighScope Curriculum favorable, but not required
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • High School/Trade School degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency OR WORK VISA IN United States required
