ANNOUNCEMENT OF AVACANCY FOR THE
2022 SUMMER SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS

 

Special Education Teachers
Summer SPED ESY Program
SOMERVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Qualifications:
•Appropriate MA DESE Elementary Licensure
Requirements:
One or more of the following specialized trainings will be required:
•Specialized Intensive Program medically fragile/severe special needs (S.K.I.P.)
•Life Skills; self-contained; certified Special Needs. to work in conjunction with the Somerville Recreation Department (students with severe cognitive disabilities)-CPI trained. (1-7), (8-Transition)
•K-6 self-contained, social/emotional/therapeutic - CPI trained
•Autism - CPI trained
•Special Education Kindergarten
•Pre-school - CPI trained

Experience working with one or more of the following populations:
•Students with ASD
•Students with multiple disabilities
•Students with emotional impairments
•Students with cognitive impairments
•Students with multiple disabilities

 

Terms of Employment:
Seasonal/Yearly Employment
Location: TBD
Stipend: $40 per hour worked
Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: Week of June 27

 

Program Schedule 4-week program

July 6, 2022 – August 2, 2022
Monday thru Friday
7:45 – 1:30pm, 5 days per week, Monday-Friday

July 6, 2022 – August 9, 2022
Monday thru Friday
7:45 – 2:30pm, 5 days per week, Monday-Friday

 

Reports to: Director of SPED Extended School Year (ESY), OST Director, and Director of Summer Programs
