Job Description

The behavioral health interventionist (Tier 2/3 coordinator) will work collaboratively with students, families, education staff, partners, agencies and the community to ensure the behavioral health needs of students and family systems within SAU 36 are met. The behavioral health interventionist and Tier 2/3 coordinator will work to assist school teams in identifying groups of students of similar behavioral health needs, work alongside members of our behavioral health teams to design and support appropriate Tier 2 interventions in schools, collect relevant data, and assist in outreach to families/community systems to help with barriers which keep students from being successful. Barriers may include basic needs, food and nutrition, safety, comfort, social and emotional needs, and any other life impeding factors.

    Job Requirements

    • Position Duties and Responsibilities:
      Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:

      1. Assist schools in referring students for state level Fast Forward/WrapAround program.
      2. Participate on Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams, collect data and work with teams and families to help design appropriate tiered interventions.
      3. Assist school wellness centers in providing oversight as needed and appropriate tiered interventions alongside school behavioral health staff, and collect data to monitor and adjust interventions as necessary.
      4. Participate in Community Management Team and Behavioral Health Team meetings monthly.
      5. Collaborate with school level clinical social workers and school counselors to coordinate outreach services.
      6. Work with community agencies to coordinate a family centered youth guided approach to services both in and out of school.
      7. Collaborate with System of Care Program Director and Director of Student Services for professional consultation.
      8. Any other duties as assigned

      Minimum Qualifications:

      1. Evidence of excellent communication, human relations skills and collaborative leadership style.
      2. Experience in school and/or community behavioral health systems and knowledge of MTSS-B. SEL and wraparound services.
      3. Evidence of valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
      3. Educational Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in education, human services, psychology or a related field.

      License and Certifications:

      Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      ? Knowledge of multi-tiered systems of supports for behavioral health
      ? Knowledge of community supports including FASTForward wraparound program
      ? Knowledge of social and emotional learning
      ? Strong written and oral communication
      ? Strong group facilitation skills
      ? Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team oriented environment and make critical decisions independently when required
      ? Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask with good decision making and strong organizational skills
      ? High degree of sensitivity to people and ability to empathize
      ? Be an active listener and support staff in wellness centers and tiered teams
      ? Build and maintain trusting and safe relationships with students and families
      ? Respect for the need to maintain confidentiality at all times
      ? Understand the effects of trauma and possess the ability to be trauma sensitive






    • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
