While reading
the SchoolSpring blog (www.schoolspring.blogspot.com),
I was surprised by the number of articles about teacher shortages
and schools spending thousands of dollars to send recruiters around
the U.S. and to foreign countries looking for teachers but still
falling short on recruitment needs. I thought to myself …
why aren’t they just using SchoolSpring? We’ve got what
they are looking for and more! Not only do our members find the
qualified educators they need, SchoolSpring is less expensive and
far more efficient than traditional recruiting. So, I’m asking
for your help. I’m calling on you, our valuable college career
friends, to let schools and educators know about SchoolSpring. Please
forward this email to your friends and colleagues so they can learn
how smart schools recruit.
Enjoy our newsletter and if you have any questions
or comments you’d like to share with us please call 888-546-3487
or email us at contact@schoolspring.com.
Thank you,

Jim Fitzpatrick
President, SchoolSpring

Dr.
Marinel D. McGrath, Superintendent of Schools for Hamilton-Wenham
Regional School District in Wenham, MA and her assistant Jean Vitale
were operating as an entire human resources department when they
were introduced to SchoolSpring. "We're a small school district
and we don't have the funds necessary to staff and equip a complete
HR department," explained Dr. McGrath.
Not only was Dr. McGrath spending thousands of dollars
on newspaper ads for just a few teaching positions and seeing average
results, she and her assistant were spending hours collecting and
managing applications. "We pride ourselves on being thorough
when hiring new teachers and maintaining personal contact during
the entire process." Previously, Dr. McGrath's assistant spent
hours sending out postcards to applicants keeping them informed
of their application status. Now, with SchoolSpring's automated
information services, applicants are continually updated every step
of the application process via email. Dr. McGrath has already calculated
cost savings based on the efficiency of the system alone.
Dr. McGrath is also excited about the applicants
she can find through SchoolSpring. "We are a district in the
know and we want to attract a tech savvy group of applicants. By
using SchoolSpring, we know that we'll have a greater talent pool."
Through onsite college recruitment programs like The SchoolSpring
Road Show and global web recruiting, SchoolSpring provides a diversified
and technologically sophisticated talent pool. "We also have
a goal to increase diversity in the district and SchoolSpring lets
us catch the attention of teachers worldwide."
Dr. McGrath explains, "We are a process-oriented
district and we include the community in the decision-making process
when we are hiring new teachers." SchoolSpring's web-based
recruiting system allows interview committee members access to information
about applicants and enables them to review and share comments from
anywhere online. "We have many parents on interview committees
who travel for work," Dr. McGrath explains. "With SchoolSpring,
they can review and evaluate applicants from anywhere."
"SchoolSpring provides a virtual human resources
department for recruiting," Dr. McGrath concludes, "and
makes finding, selecting, and hiring teachers easier and more efficient."

This
winter, SchoolSpring team members will be traveling around New England
and beyond visiting colleges, universities, and career fairs recruiting
graduating education students to become SchoolSpring candidates.
We’ll be working closely with college career centers and school
members along the way to try and guarantee that we find a job for
every teacher we meet!
At every stop during the SchoolSpring Road Show we’ll
provide:
- Great opportunity for education students
and experienced teachers to find the jobs they need
- Representation for employer members so candidates can
learn about job opportunities
- Chance for candidates to win an iPod Nano!
We believe that the SchoolSpring Road Show is the
most effective way for new teachers to find the jobs they need.
Plus, our school members have access to the top candidates they
require for the upcoming hiring season. Please visit www.schoolspring.com/roadshow
