SchoolSpring’s online portfolio management makes storing and editing your resume convenient. Additionally, it makes applying for a job easier than ever before! But one comment we repeatedly hear from employers is that applicants need to include a personalized cover letter if they want to be noticed.

Too often, applicants skip over this step, losing a valuable opportunity to differentiate themselves from the rest of the applicants. Once you’ve identified a job you want on SchoolSpring and click “Apply for this Job”, the last step before sending your portfolio should be to create a customized cover letter. Take a moment and address the letter to the contact at the school. Also, you’ll want to write something about yourself explaining why you are the perfect fit for the position. By taking the time and effort necessary to create a customized cover letter, you’ll help your resume stand out and show the school that you want the job!
