Welcome to the Winter issue of our newsletter the Source. I recently read an article in The Washington Post that January has unofficially become known as "Plan-uary". It means that if you don't have everything scheduled by the end of this month, you're probably too late! That's why now is the best time to start planning for your hiring needs for next year. Here at SchoolSpring, we're already hard at work finding the candidates you'll need to fill your vacant positions. With our new initiative, the SchoolSpring Road Show, we'll be visiting colleges and universities around New England to recruit new education graduates! Please enjoy our newsletter and if you have any questions or comments, please call 888-546-3487 or email us at contact@schoolspring.com. Have a great Winter!!

SchoolSpring Hits the Road to Recruit the Best New Teachers!

How many jobs will your district need to fill for the 2005-2006 school year?
None 5 - 20
1 - 5 More than 20

This winter, SchoolSpring team members will be braving the messy New England roads traveling around Massachusetts visiting nearly 40 colleges and universities recruiting graduating education students to become SchoolSpring candidates!

We'll be working closely with College Career Centers along the way to try and guarantee that we reach our goal of signing up every new teacher we meet!

At every stop during the SchoolSpring Road Show we'll provide:

  • Minimum of 2 hours on-site to help students and College Career Centers learn about our valuable system
  • Free subscription for each new student member to SchoolSpring Plus (a $39.95 value) so they can apply to any school, anywhere in the world
  • Free $5 Amazon.com gift certificate to each new member
  • Chance to win a mini iPod
  • Food, fun, and a great opportunity for students to find jobs when they graduate

We believe that the SchoolSpring Road Show is the most effective way for schools to have access to the top candidates they need for the upcoming hiring season. Please visit www.schoolspring.com/roadshow to learn more about this exciting program. If you work at a college or university and are interested in being a stop on the SchoolSpring Road Show itinerary, please contact Susan at susan@schoolspring.com for more information. See you on the road!

Don’t Wait for Teachers to Find You!

Don’t you wonder how we’re able to happily celebrate the holidays with all the shopping, cooking, wrapping, and visiting while continuing to work full-time jobs? Even though I had a wonderful time with family and friends, I am happy to get back to focusing on work! And for this newsletter, I have a tip that will make your work easier for sure!

Schools have traditionally placed ads in newspapers or on the internet then WAITED and HOPED that candidates see the positions and apply. With SchoolSpring's "Candidate Search", you have a better way to find the candidates you need without waiting! Just follow these easy steps:

  1. Log on to your “Employer Console” and click “Candidate Search.”
  2. Select your job criteria and click “start search.”
  3. Candidates that match your criteria will appear on your screen.
  4. You can sort the candidates by experience, degree, or status.
  5. You can click on the ID numbers next to the candidates and see their profiles and introductory paragraphs.
  6. If after reading a profile you are interested in a candidate, you can check the box next to the ID number and click “Contact
  7. Checked Candidates”.
  8. On the next screen, you will then be able to send a message to all the checked candidates inviting them to apply!

This is what Joe Bowen Principal of West Rutland High School says about Candidate Search, “I love it and find a number of our candidates using this feature on SchoolSpring.”

So go ahead, try it, and stop waiting for candidates to find you!

Advertise in Newspapers for Less!

SchoolSpring's Co-op Advertising Service is the best, most economical way for you to place advertisements in regional papers for your open positions. This means better candidates will fill your vacant jobs faster, while your school saves money!

SchoolSpring’s Co-op Advertising Service gives you the maximum exposure to more newspaper readers at the minimum price. When you sign-up before February 14, 2004, your job postings will be included in 80 advertisements over 20 consecutive weeks starting in February for only $7,000! That’s less than $90 per ad!

Because you’re already a member of SchoolSpring’s online recruiting, when you sign up for our Co-op Advertising Service your open positions are automatically placed in SchoolSpring’s weekly newspaper advertisements. Additionally, we take care of all the administrative work of placing an ad. That means no more calling, typing, emailing, designing, rushing or deadlines to worry about which saves time and money!

If you are interested in this offer, or have questions, please call Jim at 888-546-3487 or send him an email to jim@schoolspring.com.
