VERMONT SUCCESS DRIVES EXPANSION INTO THE NEW ENGLAND EDUCATION MARKET
SchoolSpring, the employment source for educators, is now available to school districts throughout New England.

So. Burlington, VT (May 25, 2004) -- SchoolSpring, a leading online employment source for educators, announced today plans to expand its service throughout New England.

SchoolSpring president, Jim Fitzpatrick said, "We're excited about bringing the success that we've had in Vermont to school districts and job seekers all over New England. Our goal is to be the top online education recruiting source for all of New England by this time next year."

The success to which Fitzpatrick is referring is almost total buy-in by school districts in Vermont. Currently, 98% of Vermont school districts use SchoolSpring to facilitate teacher and administrator recruitment. Additionally, the Vermont School Board Association uses SchoolSpring exclusively for its superintendent searches.

One of SchoolSpring's clients, Barbara Iverson, Search Consultant, says, "SchoolSpring brought a new level of efficiency to our process when we recently recruited the Executive Director for the State of Vermont School Board Association. My committee was spread out all over the state. We used SchoolSpring to read applications, review and rank candidates, as well as to set-up interviews. My committee was thrilled. They could work according to their own schedules and didn't have to spend time on travel and extra meetings. Candidates commented on our efficient and confidential process."

"With the demand for teachers as high as it is currently, district administrators are looking for ways to access a larger pool of candidates qualified to meet new federal guidelines. They are also looking for ways to improve the recruiting and hiring process. SchoolSpring offers solutions to both those challenges," added Adam Wing, senior marketing manager at SchoolSpring, who, along with his colleague Adam Forbes, is spearheading the New England expansion.

Unlike general job sites, like Yahoo's HotJobs and monster.com, SchoolSpring was designed for educators by educators, and focuses solely on the education market. This niche focus allows SchoolSpring to customize functionality as it relates to the requirements inherent in the education sector. For example, a candidate recruited through SchoolSpring will come with all the necessary documents (transcripts, reference letters, resume, test scores, etc.) at the time of application.

Other features of SchoolSpring include:

  • Complete access to a national database of educational job seekers
  • Unlimited job posting
  • Ability for candidates to apply for any job, anywhere
  • Software tools specialized to manage the educator hiring process
  • Online training
  • A "Private Label Website" function links to a subscribing school's website, helping to attract and manage applicants
