Substitute Aides and Administrative Assistants

Montgomery County Public Schools is accepting applications to be a Substitute Special Education Aide, Instructional Aide, Clerical Aide, Lunch Aide, or Administrative Assistant.

Job Requirements

• Completion of an associate’s degree or 48 semester hours of college or a passing score on the Para-Professional Assessment Exam
• Ability to learn to operate and maintain a wide variety of instructional equipment
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills

• Functional knowledge of commonly used office equipment and work-flow
• Ability to type 50 wpm with five or fewer errors (for Administrative Assistants)

    Applicants interested in Instructional Aide or Special Education Aide Positions must meet the following criteria:
  • 48 college semester credits completed, or;
  • Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment

    In the event that a candidate fails to meet the minimum standards for the ParaPro Assessment after three attempts, a subsequent assessment may be allowed with evidence of successful participation in an academic remediation program. If additional assessments are approved, (after the third attempt) the candidate will pay for the cost of the assessment.
