Job Description
The 1 to 1 paraprofessional is needed for Randolph's Extended School Year Program. This program provides education and support services to special needs students during the summer. Program operates Tuesday through Thursday mornings from July 5th through August 10th. Program hours are 8:00am to 12:00pm at the Lyons Elementary School.

The 1 to 1 special needs paraprofessional will provide direct support for a student.

Responsibilities include:
• Providing academic support to a student.
• Providing assistance in the area of Adaptive Daily Living Skills.
• Assisting in the collection of data to monitor academic progress.
• Assisting in the creation of classroom activities and materials.
• Accompanying student throughout the school day including transitions.
• Performs other related duties, as designated by the classroom teacher, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective classroom environment for student.

Qualifications:
Paraprofessionals must meet the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) highly qualified paraprofessional requirements
• Associate’s (or higher) degree; or
• Completion of 48 credit hours at an institution of higher education; or
• Completion of a formal local assessment program that is aligned with DESE guidelines; or
• Completion of one of the formal Massachusetts-endorsed assessments: Parapro or WorkKeys.

Preferred:
• Experience working with children in a diverse, multi-cultural academic setting
• Candidate should be very intuitive, proactive and responsible in working with students with disabilities.
• CPR/First Aid


Compensation: Consistent with Support Professional Collective Bargaining Agreement. Hourly rate ($17.19 - $18.59) of pay for 4.25 hours per day (12.75 hours per week)

Job Requirements
Individuals must commit to the full 6 weeks of the program
Individuals may be required to attend a 1/2 hour orientation session prior to the start of the program on a date to be determined in the Special Education Office at Randolph High School.
