Mars Estates Elementary School serves children in the Essex area of Baltimore County. As a Title I school, we receive federal funding to provide additional academic support for our students. Our pre-kindergarten program includes both three- and four-year-olds. We are an inclusive school, and we work hard to involve all children in our various programs. We also serve as one of the cluster programs for children with special needs. In addition a Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youngsters , HIPPY, is in place to promote early literacy. This year we will be adding an Aliza Brandwine Center at our school to provide early learning opportunities for children from birth to four years old.
We provide an extended day/extended year program for our students to help all children achieve at high levels. Many of our teachers offer after-school tutoring groups for their students. We are proud of achieving exemplar status for our Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS), which teaches our children to be responsible, respectful, and ready to learn |
