Welcome to Atlantis Charter School - Upper School!
Atlantis Charter School is located in Fall River, MA, which is approximately 50 miles south of Boston in the south eastern region of Massachusetts. The school occupies two separate sites located less than one mile apart. The Lower School, serving approximately 400 students in Kindergarten through Grade 4, is located at 2501 South Main Street. The Upper School, serving approximately 400 students in Grades 5 through 8, is located at 37 Park Street. Both locations have access to park or playground facilities, and overlook the Taunton River.

Atlantis, an independent public school, provides an educational choice to the families of Greater Fall River by offering a solid academic foundation to our students on which to build a successful future. We expect equal partnership among parents, community, faculty, staff and students to create a safe, caring, innovative and progressive learning environment. Atlantis incorporates the best research-based practices in education to meet the needs of our student population. It is our intent to become a model of educational excellence.

Atlantis is dedicated to developing and implementing an integrated curriculum emphasizing core subjects and the 21st century skills needed for life-long success. Our teachers employ a variety of teaching models and instructional strategies, including cooperative learning, guided inquiry, direct instruction, project based learning and peer coaching. Special education faculty and staff, working with the classroom teacher in an inclusion setting, provide instructional support to students in one-on-one or small group settings. Through the Title 1 Program, children may also receive supplemental services in Reading and Mathematics. In order for staff to remain current, professional development programs for all teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators is a top school priority.

Examples of activities and events designed to create a cohesive relationship among students, families, faculty and community are: family craft nights, family math night and Family Feud, jazz/rock ensemble, community open house events, Pachet Brook Farms family campfire, Project Bread's Walk for Hunger, School Spirit days, Pennies for Patients, Looking Glass theater, Parent Leadership Training, food drives and Student Events Committee.
