Job Description
To provide assistance to Coordinator of Accountability in implementing the activities of the Office of Accountability. Performs other duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Assisting the Coordinator in planning and providing system wide and school based professional development related to federal and state accountability guidelines and requirements.

Assisting the Coordinator in providing support to schools in the analysis, interpretation, and use of data, including but not limited to summative and formative assessment results, MSA, HSA, AP, PSAT, and SAT.

Planning and providing professional development on accessing and analyzing data in BCPS data management systems such as but not limited to AssessTrax, Cognos, STARS, and easi.

Preparing data and related materials for various presentations and reports in accordance with system guidelines and protocols.

Utilizing Access, Excel, and other technologies to input, export, verify, and summarize data to facilitate data-driven decision making.

Utilizing the Professional Development Cycle website and related resources to plan, schedule, deliver, and evaluate all trainings.

Performing additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in education or a directly related field, with at least fifteen additional hours of approved graduate and/or in-service credit; plus five years of teaching/ leadership experience in a PreK-12 public educational setting.
Experience in providing professional development and/or mentoring.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of educational assessment and testing.
Knowledge of and skill in the use of database, internet, spreadsheet, word processing, and related applications. Proficiency in use of PowerPoint and Excel required. Knowledge of and proficiency in data analysis.

Skill in planning and presenting professional development activities.

Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Standard Professional Certificate is required.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The work of this class is generally sedentary, performed in an office environment, and requires the use of coordination and skill in the operation of computers and other office equipment.

    Pre-Employment Requirements:

    • All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (State of Maryland, Senate Bill 315, effective October 1, 1986) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $72.25 An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
    • Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
    • If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
    • Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
    • All newly hired personnel must attend a New Hire Orientation session.
    • Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
