Job Description
Oversee, supervise, organize, and plan all district-wide programs in Special Education, Medicare Administration, Census Operations, Child Outreach, and English Language Learners/English as a Second Language (ESL/ELL) programs for the East Providence School Department. Exercise day-to-day supervision of Special Education programs, . District special education specialists (OTs, PTs, Psychologists, Social Workers, SLPs, etc.) report directly to this position. School-based special education department head/coordinators report indirectly to this position for technical/regulatory guidance. This position is also responsible for supervising and coordinating student out-placement to out-of-district special education institutions and for closely tracking students, costs, and budgets for tuition. Responsible for all other normal management/leadership functions such as reports, finance, budgeting, oversight of clerical staff, etc.

Job Requirements
1. Hold or be immediately eligible for Rhode Island Department of Education certificate as Administrator of Special Education
2. Hold a Master's Degree in Adminitration, Special Education, or a related discipline
3. Have at least twelve years of successful teaching experience, eight of which must have been in the area of special education
4. Have at least three years of experience in or related to the administration or supervision of Special Education programs
5. Be able to document demonstrated ability (through interviews, resume and reference checks) to perform the responsibilities of the position as
evidenced by course work, education experience, professional experience, school-level involvement and/or district-wide
professional activities.

> At least 12 years of relevant experience preferred
> Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
