Thetford Elementary School currently serves 201 children in grades K-6. The staff of 52 includes experienced classroom teachers, paraprofessionals and support staff. The town's children continue their secondary education at Thetford Academy in grades 7-12.
Thetford seeks an educational leader who has a genuine love for children and a commitment to diversity, can respectfully and effectively work with an experienced staff, and will develop a rapport with parents and community members. This leader should also be an excellent administrator experienced in K-6 education; have an appreciation for the integral role of the arts; have the ability to manage student performance data to help improve the curriculum; be supportive of professional learning for staff; be able to maintain and increase high standards of educational excellence at TES; and have the vision and leadership skills to assist the staff and the School Board in achieving their goals. Additionally, the principal will encourage dialog and new ideas from parents, staff and other experts to establish an atmosphere or mutual respect throughout the school community.
