The Sudbury Public Schools, a prek-8 district, is seeking a dynamic and experienced special education teacher to work at the Haynes Elementary School. The special education teacher will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support in the general education classrooms combined with learning center instruction for small groups and individuals.
The student population is varied with disabilities including learning disabled, NVLD, Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, social-emotional, PDD, etc. Successful candidate must have demonstrated success with and be knowledgeable about research-based interventions for children with these disabilities. Candidate should possess demonstrated ability to develop positive behavior intervention plans. Wilson/O-G training and certification preferred.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about formal diagnostic assessment and ongoing progress monitoring using curriculum-based measurements. The teacher is responsible for the testing and evaluation of students initially referred or for three year reevaluations for caseload students. Candidate must have training and experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of assessments and evaluation tools.
