We are seeking an experienced educational leader for a supervisory union serving 1,335 students in the schools of Bradford, Newbury and Thetford Elementary Schools; Waits River Valley School; Oxbow High School; River Bend Career and Technical Center; and the OESU Early Childhood Programs. We are located in the Green Mountain State of Vermont in the Connecticut River Valley Region approximately 30 minutes north of the Hanover/Dartmouth College area.
Criteria for the successful candidate: • Understand the dynamics of student learning, speak knowledgeably about instructional practices and have a track record of improving student performance. • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Capacity to build collaboration among schools and in working with the board to develop and execute policy. • Posses strong financial and operational knowledge. • Maintain a high degree of integrity, honesty, respect and trustworthiness in all supervisory union dealings.
The SU Central Office staff includes an Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, a Director of Business and Finance, a Human Resources Director, an ELA Teacher Leader, a Coordinator of Federal Programs, an Assistant Director of Student Services, three staff accountants and two support staff members in addition to the Superintendent. The superintendent also supervises a technology consultant at the central office. There are 320 employees within the SU schools.
There are three elementary schools (K-6), one K-8 school, one High School (7-12), a Technical Center (10-12) and an Early Childhood Program. They are represented by a total of 5 school district boards and a Supervisory Union Board. The Superintendent reports directly to the SU Board. The SU office is located in Bradford, Vermont.

Prior superintendent experience is preferred but not required. Must posses or be eligible to posses VT superintendent license.
