The Longmeadow Public Schools seeks knowledgeable, experienced and qualified individuals to employ as substitutes.
Substitutes fill in when there are openings due to a staff member's absence. These positions can be either teacher, paraprofessional, secretary or nurse positions. A substitute employed with the Longmeadow Public Schools is able to manage their work schedule through our online substitute reporting system.

As a suburban community of 9 square miles with a rich, historic, New England heritage, Longmeadow offers a beautiful and wholesome residential setting along the Connecticut River for a population of approximately 16,000 people. There is no industry within the town limits. The community is a pleasant, old New England town characterized by stately colonial homes, tree-shaded streets, and parks with swimming pools, tennis courts, and playgrounds. Minimum qualifications for substitute teaching are a high school diploma and previous expereince working with young people. College students wishing to substitute must have completed their sophomore year of college and have all paperwork filed with the Assistant Superintendent's office by March of the year in order to be availbable to substitute.

In addition to providing the complete SchoolSpring application (your 2 letters of recommendation must be current, less than one year old), Please list specifics on each of your Teaching Experiences. Please list all of the following: Town & State; Subject & Grade; Dates (from-to); # of years taught; kind of experience (student teaching, regular contract or substitute); reason for leaving. Also in the resume section please list any extra-curricular activities in which you participated in college, such as student government, publications, athletics, debating, etc. Also include any hobbies or special interests.
If selected for interview, at time of interview, you will be required to submit the following original paperwork: -Massachusetts State Certification -Official College Transcripts -Signed original letters of reference
If selected for interview, during the interview process, selected candidates will be asked to complete a writing sample. |
