To identify, evaluate, and provide therapy to students identified with speech and/or language deficits in order to support all involved staff and the students so they can obtain maximum benefit from their educational program. Flexible, self-motivated, team player. Serves as a school resource for staff and parents with regards to speech/language. Assists and guides teachers in observing, documenting, and referring students with suspected speech and/or language imipairments. Identify and administer appropriate formal and informal assessment instruments needed in diagnosing speech, language, fluency, etc. impairments. Administers all screening in speech/language area to determine whether or not further assessment is needed. Participates in Pre/Kindergarten screening. Provides appropriate therapeutic activities to meet the individuals needs in the remediation of existinig impairments. Selects and/or designs materials that match the student's needs as designated by the child's IEP. Monitors students continuous progress through data collection and observation. Provides information/support and training to parents around their child's needs. Provides training to teachers and other staff on speech and language topics. Works collaboratively with teachers, special educators, paras, parents, and behavior specialists to ensure wrap around service and carry over skills and goals. Attends and participates in EST, EPT, 504, and IEP meetings. Participates in the development of speech/language budget. Demonstrates an understanding of state and federal regulations, local policies regardinig children with special needs. Attempts to provide maximum integration (inclusion) as appropriate. Attends trainings as they relate to professional compentence. Writes IEP plans as a case manager and/or service provider. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. Maintains and establishes cooperative working relationships with coworkers. Establishes and maintains good communication with parents, local agencies, students, coworkers and parents concerning the progress of the students. Creates and follows an agreed upon schedule. If needed is available outside the regular school day for formal or informal meeting when requested to do so. Reports accurate student data regarding progress. Full working knowledge of SPED Doc. Performs other tasks which may be assigned from time to time, i.e. lunch duty, collaboration coverage.

VT Licensure with CCC as a Speech & Language Pathologist. Experience with sudents with various special education needs and developmental disabilities. Experience with a variety of models of therapy. Aware of BEST practices and developmental differences. Knowledge and experience with VT standards and Learning Opportunities, Grade Expectations for elementary grades. Experience with children with autism a plus
